Passwords and You.
Passwords and You.

5 Reasons you should be using a password manager.

Long gone are the days when you could keep all your passwords on a small piece of notebook paper or a planner or in a word document on your computer and think that your safe. Today we have so many apps and logins that it’s impossible to keep them all secure and safe without the help of a robust password manager. I know that some of you will cringe at the thought of having to learn a new app, but trust me on this one. It’s a very big deal.
In todays digital climate with all the would be attackers working hard everyday on ways to hack and crack into your personal data it only makes sense to have a proactive approach.
The analogy I like to use is this: A would be attacker is looking at folks walking along the road to attack and rob someone. Who would be attacked first, a feeble elderly person or a strong younger body builder?
Bingo. The feeble elder is your passwords written down on piece of paper or in a simple word document on you computer and the body builder is the strong password manager. You are getting the picture now. Attacking the weaker only makes sense. Would be hackers are betting on predictable human behaior to crack into your device and expoit all of your data.
- By trusting and using a bonafide password manager you are removing the predicatable human behavior out of the equation. A great password manager will have to ability to generate passwords for your various sites completely random. Also giving you the ability to choose how many upper, lower case and special characters you would like in your password. Along with how many characters.
- If you are keeping your passwords in a word document on your machine that is VERY scary. Once a hacker has gained entrance into your machine they can potentially find said document and then have free will and access to ALL of your private data.
- Passwords written down on a piece of paper can be found by someone or lost. And as far I have can tell, retrieving a piece of notebook paper from any of the cloud services is impossible.
- Never being locked out of a service to website. By using a password manager you do not have to ever be frustrated by not remembering or being able to find the password to log in. It is just a few clicks away and you can unlock and gain entrance to all of your services and sites.
- Freedom. Having the confidence to know that your personal information and logins are as protected as they can be will give you peace of mind.
